Protecting Biodiversity For
A Sustainable Future

We are an organization conceived to address the pressing need for broader institutional and multi-stakeholder participation in accelerating the achievement of the Constitutional target of 10% tree cover of Kenya’s national land area, as provided for under Article 69 (1) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya.

We concentrate our efforts in the Western part of Kenya, specifically in Kakamega and Vihiga counties, where forest cover is among the lowest in the country. We are also eager to collaborate with other county, national, and supra-national organizations that share similar goals.

By forming strong affiliations, we can make a meaningful impact on climate change, biodiversity conservation, and curbing land degradation for sustainable development on both national and international levels.

The environment and forest sector play a crucial role in supporting key primary sectors of the economy, including manufacturing, energy, health, and agriculture.

BIOLEAD is committed to supporting the government’s efforts to enhance the contribution of this sector towards the achievement of  Vision 2030.
